Step 2: Choose Your City
GigRusher operates in six major metros (with more coming):
- Dallas, TX — the largest and most active market on the platform right now

Select your city from the homepage or navigate directly to the city page, like gigrusher.com/dallas.
Step 3: Browse Jobs by Category
Once you're in your city, jobs are organized into categories:
- Moving & Hauling — local moves, furniture delivery, junk removal
- Cleaning — residential and commercial cleaning
- Day Labor — general labor, construction help, manual work
- Delivery & Driving — package delivery, courier services, driving gigs

Click any category on your city page to see available jobs. For example, Dallas → Day Labor shows all day labor gigs in the DFW area.
Step 4: Review Job Details
Every job listing on GigRusher includes:
- Job title and description — exactly what you'll be doing
- Pay amount and type — hourly, daily, fixed, or per-task
- Job type — same-day, day labor, gig, short-term, or recurring
- Urgency — how quickly the employer needs someone
- Location — city and area
- Requirements — skills, experience, certifications needed
- Company name — who is hiring
Read the full description before applying. The more clearly you understand the job, the better your application will be.
Step 5: Apply
Applying on GigRusher is fast:
- Click Apply Now on any job listing
- Write a brief cover message — a sentence or two about why you're interested and what makes you a good fit
- Attach your resume if you have one uploaded (optional but helpful)
- Click Submit
The employer will review your application and reach out. Many jobs — especially urgent ones — fill the same day they're posted.
Set Up Your Profile and Preferences
After signing up, you can customize your experience from your Dashboard:
Profile Information
- First and last name — already filled from signup
- Phone number — lets employers contact you directly
- Location — your city and neighborhood
- Bio — a few lines about your experience and what you're looking for
- Skills — list what you're good at (e.g., heavy lifting, driving, cleaning, painting)
Job Preferences
On your first visit to the dashboard, you'll see a Preferences dialog where you can set:
- Preferred cities — which markets you want to work in
- Preferred categories — the types of work that interest you
- Pay type — hourly, daily, fixed, or per-task
- Job types — same-day, day labor, gig, short-term, or recurring
- Email alerts — get notified when new jobs matching your preferences are posted
These preferences help surface the most relevant jobs in your dashboard. You can update them anytime from the Settings tab.
Resume Upload
You can upload a resume directly from your profile. It's stored securely and attached to your applications automatically. Even a simple one-page resume can help you stand out.
Track Your Applications
Your Dashboard shows all your submitted applications with real-time status tracking:
- Pending — the employer hasn't reviewed it yet
- Reviewed — the employer has seen your application
- Accepted — you got the job — confirm and show up
- Rejected — this one didn't work out, but keep applying
- Withdrawn — you pulled your application
Check your dashboard regularly. Employers often respond within hours for urgent gigs.
Tips for Landing More Gigs
Apply Early
Jobs fill fast — especially same-day and urgent listings. Check new postings often and apply quickly.
Write a Real Cover Message
Even one or two sentences can set you apart:
"I've helped with three residential moves this month and I'm available all day Saturday. Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with heavy lifting."
That's better than no message at all.
Be Specific About Your Skills
If you've done landscaping, say so. If you have a truck, mention it. Employers want to know what you bring to the table.
Show Up and Do Good Work
Reliability is the single biggest differentiator. Show up on time, work hard, and communicate if anything comes up. Employers remember good workers.
Try Different Categories
Don't limit yourself to one type of work. You might discover you enjoy event setup, warehouse work, or delivery — and each new category opens more opportunities.
Common Questions
Do I need experience? No. Many gigs are open to all experience levels. Look for listings that say "no experience required."
How do I get paid? Pay is handled between you and the employer. Most gigs offer same-day or end-of-week payment. Check the listing for specifics.
Can I work part-time? Absolutely. Pick gigs that fit your schedule. There's no minimum commitment.
What if I need to cancel? If you can't make a gig after being accepted, let the employer know as soon as possible. Being upfront preserves your reputation.
Is GigRusher free for workers? Yes. There's no cost to create an account, browse jobs, or apply.
